When taking off in an airplane, one can often hear an automated voice coming over the loudspeaker to deliver important safety instructions to the passengers.

This pilot announcement typically begins with greeting the passengers boarding the flight, followed by confirmation that the aircraft has started moving away from the departure gate. After several moments, the seat belts sign turns off which indicates it is now possible for passenger movement throughout the cabin.

When the plane is ready, pilot usually say this: “Good afternoon passengers welcome aboard flight [insert airline & flight number] we are currently pushing back from gate [insert gate number] and should begin our taxi towards runway 26R momentarily.”

Pause for up to 10 seconds before continuing. Wait for aircraft doors to close. Once closed say “Cabin crew prepare for takeoff.” Then wait approximately 5 minutes (or until reaching cruising altitude) then announce announcement take off.
